What to Expect on First Start
Use this page when a new server is still preparing or changes state during setup.
Common first-start states
Section titled “Common first-start states”The Portal may show several states while your server is being prepared:
- Queued means the create request has been accepted and is waiting to begin.
- Installing or Provisioning means files and runtime setup are in progress.
- Starting means the server process is coming online.
- Ready means the server should be available to open and test.
- Stopped means the server is not currently running and may need to be started from the console.
The exact labels may vary by server type.
Why the state may change more than once
Section titled “Why the state may change more than once”Some runtimes run setup steps the first time they start. A server may start, stop, install files, and start again before it is ready. That is usually normal during first setup.
When to wait
Section titled “When to wait”If the server was just created, give it a few minutes and refresh the Portal before opening a ticket. Check the console if it is available; first-start logs often show progress.
When to open a ticket
Section titled “When to open a ticket”Open a ticket if the server stays in the same non-ready state for longer than expected, repeatedly fails to start, or shows an error you do not understand.
Include the server name, game/runtime, current state shown in the Portal, and any visible console error.
