Create Your First Dev Workspace
Dev workspaces let you edit and run project files from your browser when workspace access is available on your plan.
1. Open the create flow
Section titled “1. Open the create flow”From the Portal dashboard or Servers page, select Create Server or the available create action. Choose a dev workspace option if it is available to your account.
2. Choose workspace settings
Section titled “2. Choose workspace settings”Pick the workspace type and resource size shown in the Portal. Use a clear name so you can find it later.
Before creating it, confirm that your plan supports the workspace resources you selected.
3. Wait until it is ready
Section titled “3. Wait until it is ready”The Portal may show the workspace as provisioning, stopped, ready, or not installed. Wait until provisioning is complete before opening the IDE.
If the IDE is stopped but the workspace is ready, use the Portal action to start it.
4. Open the browser IDE
Section titled “4. Open the browser IDE”Open the workspace and select the IDE or Open action. The IDE should open in a browser tab.
Save your work before restarting or stopping a workspace. Avoid storing sensitive credentials in project files.
5. Create a snapshot before risky changes
Section titled “5. Create a snapshot before risky changes”Before large dependency updates, major file changes, or experiments, create a snapshot if snapshots are available.
